Imagine Capitol Hill 2008

Debuted in 2008, Imagine Capitol Hill is SCH's annual sustainability festival. Held in conjunction with the Capitol Hill Farmer's Market, this event's goal is to engage the Capitol Hill community around issues of sustainability and community building.

Imagine is an interactive outdoor street festival, bringing together local businesses, musicians, artists, food producers, and organizations; celebrating current sustainable practices in the neighborhood; and showcasing attainable action steps for moving the community towards sustainability. Imagine has interactive, hands-on activities, such as art projects, cooking demonstrations, bike repair stations, and dancing to live music (just to name a few).

Sustainable Capitol Hill strives to create Imagine to be different than your average sustainability festival - to ensure it is not just a place to pick up pamphlets on resources, but is a place where ideas come to life, where neighbors meet and create solutions together, and where you can participate in the process of imagining and creating Capitol HIll as a truly sustainable neighborhood.

Here are some photos from the 2008 Imagine Capitol Hill festival; we hope you can join us for the next one!
